Is parking necessary?
Castle currently lists parking at US$40 plus tax per day, first come, first served. Expedia may display US$45, so check the final booking terms. Waikiki is highly walkable, so travelers who only need a car for excursions may be able to rent for part of the stay instead of paying hotel parking every day.
Why the fee can look different
Castle prices the TLC fee by room type. Studios are US$50 plus tax and 1-bedroom units are US$70 plus tax. Qualified promotional rates can also discount the TLC fee; the Hawaii-resident example checked by Fee Surfing showed US$25 for the qualifying rate. Compare the rate-plan details, not just the room price.
Can the mandatory fee be avoided?
Unless a qualifying rate or package explicitly says otherwise, treat the disclosed property charge as mandatory. Always check the final booking screen because rate-specific terms can differ.
